Poor Planning, Poor Management, Poor Delivery! - Dan Hulbert
Unfortunately bad press, opinions and focus on the negative side of builders/trades and this industry brings comments like below;
They are just cowboys!
They didn't tell us about the changes!
They took our money and disappeared!
They never finished the work!
They left our property in a right state!
and to be fair these comments are justified yet in my 20 years experience their is always two sides to every story, Homeowners bring challenges to the project with lack of planning, poor budgeting and false expectations of time frames and variations.
That is enough negative talk for this book, my goal is to bring solutions and change so I want to focus the rest of the ebook on those positive notes because their are some great builders/trades out their like myself wink wink and some amazing clients who are well organised, prepared and have a healthy budgets.
I do understand projects aren’t easy to execute because their are a lot of moving parts where some Homeowners really do not understand the process and then couple that with some builders not being great managers or communicators these pairs together can end in disaster.
But really the process is simple and with the right roadmap that allows a project to be planned, managed and delivered in the right manner with the correct standards, communication and certificates you can have successful projects every time.
